About Me.
Hi, I'm Allison. I am originally from the US but now call London home. I am an avid reader, sunshine enthusiast, and deeply passionate about the development of new plays and musicals.
My training began with vocal training from Loretta Giles, with her support I went on to study at the Virginia Governors School for Performing Arts, Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC and receive a B.A in Musical Theatre Performance from The University of Alabama. After graduating, I worked as an actor, director, dramaturg, literary manager, and teacher at theatres across the US. In Autumn of 2022, I moved to London and received my M.A with distinction from the University of East London.
While I was a student at the University of Alabama, someone dared me to submit a directing proposal to the student led production company. As I am never one to shy away from a challenge, I researched thoroughly, and submitted a proposal. To my surprise, my proposal to direct Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead was accepted and went on to win two University awards. The next year I began work alongside a playwriting graduate student as a dramaturg and began developing my technique as an actor focused director and new work dramaturg.
Character development and storytelling are at the forefront of my focus as both a Director and as a Dramaturg. I enjoy working intimately with playwrights and actors to fully realise the world of each play. I find projects have the most success when I am not only respecting the voice and vision of the playwright but also of the actors. Creating a space where I can guide the combination of all of our creative voices, brings a fullness to the story line that truly allows for a seamless transition from the page to the stage.
